Mañana Resort & Marina — A Waterfront Story

Built with intention.
Designed for today.

From 1948 to Today — The History of Mañana Resort & Marina on Ladysmith Harbour

When the current ownership took possession, they saw not just what was here — but what was possible. The scale and thoroughness of what followed has become something of a legend in the Pacific Northwest marine community. Boaters, travellers, and locals who had watched this property for years began to take notice as a genuine transformation unfolded: new docks, new facilities, new suites, new energy — all while honouring the soul of a place that had always meant something to this harbour.

The renovation journey has been ambitious by any measure. Every suite in the Inn has been reimagined with a coastal Mediterranean warmth. The grounds and gardens have been cultivated with care. The marina has been expanded and modernised to welcome a new generation of vessels and crews. And 1948 Bar & Bistro has become a destination in its own right — a place where the kitchen reflects the same commitment to quality and place that defines the resort as a whole.

Today, Mañana Resort & Marina stands as one of Vancouver Island’s most watched and most admired waterfront destinations. Throughout the Pacific Northwest marine community, the developments here are followed with genuine eagerness — because what is being built at Mañana is not just a resort. It is a living example of how a waterfront destination can lead with stewardship, beauty, and an unwavering clarity of purpose.

This is only the beginning.

Recognition, Values & Our Commitment to the Pacific Northwest

At Mañana, stewardship is not a policy — it’s a point of view. We believe that a resort situated on one of Vancouver Island’s most beautiful working harbours carries a responsibility to the water, the wildlife, and the community that calls this coastline home. Every decision we make is guided by that belief — from how we manage our marina and grounds, to how we source our food and care for our guests.

We are building a model for what responsible, beautiful, waterfront hospitality can look like — not just here, but across the Pacific Northwest. Marine activity, thoughtful development, and genuine stewardship can coexist — and Mañana is living proof of that. Every guest, every crew, and every visitor who arrives here becomes part of that story, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
